Birmingham named the most burgled city in the UK after London

How much do you bet most of those were in Selly?

New stats have shown that there are almost 15 burglaries per 1,000 residents in Birmingham.

Birmingham follows London which has just over 30 burglaries per 1,000 residents.

Liverpool comes in close third at 14.21 burglaries per 1,000 residents compared to Birmingham's 14.92.

The stats come at a time where crime in Birmingham is particularly high. Student area, Selly Oak, has received the brunt of this increase in crime with students feeling particularly unsafe in the area.

The statistics came from Anglian Home Improvements. The firm used March 2018 figures from Police.UK to assess the burglary rates across the UK.
