Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott are ‘in crisis talks’ and she’s ‘walked out on him’

Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott are reportedly in “crisis talks” over their relationship and she has “walked out on him” following a huge row.

The Sun is reporting the Made in Chelsea star and former Love Islander had a “blazing row”, and now Sam has been pictured in tears at a TV event and being hugged by best mate, Pete Wicks.

A source close to the reality couple, who have been together on and off for five years, told the publication they have been trying to patch things up after the huge bust-up at their London home. Sam has apparently been left “distraught” and Zara has left the home they share.

The insider said: “Since Christmas Zara and Sam have been really busy with work and have had little quality time to see each other and as a result their relationship has suffered. They’ve both wanted to make the most of their careers and say yes to all the exciting opportunities offered to them.

“Last weekend it came to a head and they had a big row. It was very upsetting and they needed some time to let the dust settle.”

Zara had reportedly gone to stay with her parents in Essex for a while, before heading to Spain for work. The source added: “Zara had a work commitment in Majorca but has now returned home to be with Sam and try to iron out their differences and have crisis talks. They really want to try and make the relationship work.”

Speaking of Sam being pictured in the last week breaking down at an event, the insider said: “Sam opened up to Pete about the situation and the pair discussed it at length. It goes to show just how genuine Sam’s friendship with Pete is and how it goes far beyond a showbiz arrangement. Pete gets on really well with both Sam and Zara and was keen for them to patch things up.”

This isn’t the first time the couple have hit a rocky patch. In 2020 they broke up after it was revealed Zara had cheated on Sam. After a lot of back and forth, the couple got back together later that year.
