Here’s 10 places in Newcastle you need to visit this year to keep your Insta popping

Neon signs seem to be a winner

To stop the Instagram envy, we've narrowed down some of the best places in the Toon to make sure your feed is looking great this year. You're welcome.

1. Market Shaker

Cheap pizza, trebles and the perfect Instagram background. The perfect trio for any student in Newcastle. Market Shaker describes itself as "an independent, all day bar and hangout." It's located on Cloth Market, (just round the corner from Flares) and it's the perfect place to hit before heading into town.

2. Greenhouse Disco Gardens

Greenhouse Disco Gardens also has a flower wall and an LED ceiling to make sure your night out is top tier and your Insta is looking good. Located where Mono used to be, on Groat Market. They also run a Student Sessions night on a Monday where you have a bop to some good tunes mixed by upcoming student DJs and it's the new home of Groovy Disco Tech on a Tuesday!

3. Eden

TigerTiger is no more, and in it's place is this new stunning restaurant and bar.

It offers bottomless brunches, food and cocktails for you to get your classy pics for the gram. Think flower walls and some iconic butterfly wings that are ready and waiting for you to pose in front of.

It was about time that Newcastle got its own Ghetto Golf and it does not disappoint. This is every Instagrammers dream and boy does it look fun. There's neon (we see a theme recurring here), a 'Jesmond Kyle' TV set and a walk in arcade machine – iconic.

Located in Byker, it's not too far from the city centre and it's only £10 per person.

6. Stack

Whether it's you or your food you want to upload to the gram, Stack is the ideal place for it. Located on Pilgrim Street, right next to Tyneside Cinema, it is the North East's version of Boxpark in Shoreditch and it does not disappoint.

The range of food stands means you can definitely find a cuisine to match your feed. There are also photo booths dotted about and it emails you the pics so you can upload to your story – cute.

7. The Holy Hobo

Are you even a student in Newcastle if you haven't posed with that bike and the angel wings in The Holy Hobo? It's technically in Jesmond so is the perfect alternative to a night out if you're not fancying hitting town. By day it does food and drinks too, like this HUGE pornstar martini, pictures pending.

10. The Botanist

Big claim, but we would say Newcastle is home to one of the nicest Botanist's in the country. The floors seem to be endless and each one gives you a great view of the city.

It's got that garden theme which seems to be a trend in Newcastle at the moment but it really works. Grab yourself some food and a few cocktails and head to the roof terrace to provide the goods for your followers.
