Abbie HigginsIf you blinked then you probably missed it, but the first snow of the Jesmond winter fell today at approximately 10:20am.
The mercury has been plummeting towards zero all day in Newcaslte and for a brief moment, the white stuff was falling from the sky.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we will be treated to a snow day any time soon – the blizzard was over within two minutes.
BBC weather has instead predicted thunder, hail and potential strong winds over night.
