Calling all students! Lancaster Burger King is finally open

Time to put your crocs in sport mode and run to get your fill of onion rings

Lancaster’s newest fast-food restaurant has officially opened its doors to the people of the city.

The Lancaster branch of Burger King was originally announced back in July, and construction began in early September.

The chain gave no indication as to when the eatery would be opening, but those wandering through the city centre this afternoon will have noticed signs on its doors stating: “Open Now! On Reduced Hours! Bear with us while we’re firing up the grill.”

The store will only be open until 9pm tonight before resuming a regular working schedule tomorrow.

Based at the bottom of Cheapside, next to Greggs, the eatery will be open daily. Its opening hours are from 11 am to 10 pm Sunday to Wednesday, and 10 am to 11 pm Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Burger King will also be available for delivery between the hours of 11-9.30pm Sunday to Wednesday, and up to 10.30 pm the other days, with more information on couriers to be announced soon.

The chain joins other fast-food restaurants along the Cheapside, McDonald’s and Domino’s, as well as many other fast-food chains across the city centre, making Lancaster residents truly spoiled for choice.
