Nostalgia-tinged US indie pop by a five piece from Newcastle. Worth a listen…

3. Ed Harcourt: The Man that Time Forgot

Wallow in 5th week blues/pre-exam stress by listening to this beautiful, but rather bleak, song.

4. Sarai Givaty: Into your Heart

Iranian actress and model who decided to follow her ambitions of becoming a musician with this song being the result. This was her first single, released last year.

5. Les Mentettes: Suzanne

Indie folk rock from Argentina, with influences said to range from Ziggy Stardust to Nina Simone and Brian Wilson. They have been making music together since they were seven.

6. Jake Downs: The Prince

This quirky and organic sounding music is the work of a first year Oxford music student. Definitely worth listening to!

7. Kidnap Kid: Vehl

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4THOJsf8E2c

On the UK emerging bass scene, Kidnap Kid has managed to differentiate himself by creating a unique audio aesthetic that manages to be meaningful and articulated without utilising the standard tricks.

8. Annie Lennox: Walking on Broken Glass

This song is a sure fire way to wake yourself up in the morning. A brilliant feel good tune with one of the most bizarre music videos I’ve ever seen!
