The 2018 NUSU Elections are upon us. So that you don't have to, we spoke to the candidate's running to be the next NUSU Activities Officer, summarised their manifestos and found out why they think you should vote for them. Take a look.

Online Student Notice Board
Online Claims Forms for Societies, with Clear Deadlines.
Increase Access for Students with Disability
Increase Involvement of Post Graduate Students in NUSU
Continued Recognition of the Work of Individuals and Societies.
Sophie says:
'My mission is to ensure that current and prospective students make the most out of their time at Newcastle University. We offer 170+ societies with over 9000 participants – growing this number is a way to ensure people feel they’re actively part of our students union. As well as this, I aim to increase the recognition of those that contribute significantly to the development of themselves for their futures and the university through the involvement within activities.'

Josh Cook
Studies: Physics
Josh's Manifesto in 5 points:
Increase inclusivity within societies
Increase safety on socials, encouraging at least one 1st Aid trained committee member on each social
Increase opportunities for performance based societies to perform
Help faith based societies find space on campus
Improve the profile and awareness of Go Volunteer and Give it a Go on campus
Josh says:
'Activities here, and give it a go, try them out, with a'me Mario'.
