People have been queueing on Grainger Street for Yeezy trainers since Wednesday

The shoes ‘drop’ tomorrow

Kanye West’s new trainers, Yeezys, are going on sale this Saturday and dozens of people are queuing on Grainger St near Monument to bag themselves the new treads.

The shoe shop End, which has one store in Newcastle, tweeted on Tuesday they would have the artist’s 350 Yeezy Boost V2 trainers available in store only on Saturday morning. The tweet, which received over 180 likes, grabbed the attention of dozens of people who began queuing and camping outside the store in earnest.

Jordan, 20, studying Graphics at Newcastle wasted no time getting to End and is 30th on the list.

Jordan told The Chronicle: “There are 15 to 20 of us that are always here. If you got class, work and stuff, then you can go.

“It’s mainly overnight, and you sleep here overnight and are here for most of the day. If you got work, uni or anything like that, then it’s OK to leave.”

Jordan was one of up to 50 people that had gathered outside the shop.

End opens at 9AM on Saturday.
