Josh, who is getting ready to study psychology, told The Chronicle that his dad took the job at Newcastle United just to keep at eye on him. “Dad is very proud. I’d picked Northumbria University before he took the job.

“I am little bit worried he’s going to be keeping an eye on me.”

The fresher also told the Gazette Live that he may look at a career in sports psychology after he graduates: “I’m happy as anything that I got the grades, Northumbria was the one I wanted to go to.”

The psychology student gained three C’s in design and technology, PE and General studies and a B in psychology.

Steve McClaren was appointed as head coach of Premier League side Newcastle United in June 2015. Steve had played as a midfielder in the lower leagues.
