Simon Danczuk, current MP for Rochdale, outed Smith as a paedophile following undercover police investigations towards allegations of child abuse, which totalled a huge 144 complaints.
The paedophile politician who, like Savile, was only exposed after his death in 2010, had been awarded an honorary degree from Lancaster University in the early 1990s.
The University still lists Smith as an Honorary Graduate on their website alongside larger celebrity names such as Christopher Nolan and James May.
Smith received honours from Lancaster in 1993
The university have been contacted for a response.
