Lidl now has self-service machines

FINALLY

Cathays’ Lidl has added six brand spankingly new self-service machines, in an attempt to reduce record breaking queues.

The store has also invested in some fancy new freezers.

Oooooh

The changes to the Cathays store are in line with Lidl’s plan to update current stores across the UK with a ‘second generation’ configuration.

The company also plans to rebuild its Roath store on Colchester Avenue.

Lidl UK’s regional head of property, Paul Hebblethwaite, said: “As our strong sale growth continues across the UK we are constantly reinvesting into our existing store base, as well as building new stores.”

Jefferson Bunney, who studies Economics, said: “I saw it on Snapchat and just couldn’t believe it, I had to replay it.

“I was there straight away, bought a cheese twist and can confirm that I did not have to start eating it in the queue.

“I must say that the new machines are very intuitive – it was actually rather pleasant and altogether a less distressing experience.”
