Oxford Brookes arranges teaching arrangements for the rest of semester one

The majority of teaching will be moved online after 4 December

Oxford Brookes have emailed students today to update them on their plans for teaching arrangements for the rest of semester one.

In the email they said: “We can confirm that up to and including Friday 4 December, all face-to-face teaching will continue as planned. After 4 December and for the remainder of semester one, teaching for the majority of programmes will be moved online.”

However, Brookes did acknowledge that some courses require continued face-to-face teaching after 4 December and said: “For these programmes, face-to-face teaching will continue up to, and including, 8 December. Programme teaching teams will be in touch in the next few days about any modules with different arrangements and with details about any other alterations to teaching or assessment.”

The email went on to say: “End of term assessment deadlines will remain as planned. Please plan ahead to ensure that you have the resources you need, such as library books, ahead of returning home. We will extend loan dates to cover this period so no fines will be incurred.”

The university also acknowledged that: “Some students in University-managed accommodation have made requests for a discount in accommodation fees over the Christmas period. We have previously confirmed to students in University-managed accommodation that the Covid-19 Lockdown Policy will not apply, and this remains the case.”

The email also shared details on the university’s plans for semester two: “As communicated previously, we are currently planning to deliver teaching during semester 2 in a similar way to semester 1, following a blended approach of face-to-face and online learning. However, due to the nature of this rapidly changing situation, we will update you again in December.”
