What do you miss most about freshers?

From one night stands to overdosing on Domino’s

After two weeks of continuous drinking and some undoubtedly poor decisions, some of us are happy to see the back of the O2 for a good while. But it’s still good to keep in touch with your fresher side every once in a while.

Amber, second year, English

“I miss the bumpy bus journey down Ratcliffe Road, no matter how hungover we were it gave us time to gossip about who got up to what the night before.”

Keone, second year, Economics

“I miss being closer to the gym, and trashing halls with the lads. Someone’s room was always a state and the cleaners were never happy about it.”

 Els, second year, English

“Definitely the heating, when you’re dying of Fresher’s Flu the last thing you want is a cold room.”

Sam, second year, Engineering

“I miss meeting new people in the first two weeks, nights out were more exciting when you didn’t know who you were gonna see or what to expect.”

Rihannon and Annalise, second year, English

Rihannon: “I miss catered food. It’s much easier not cooking when you’re hungover. But I did find a maggot in the food once… never again.”

Annalise: “Being in Oadby surrounded by everyone was the best part, Pre’s were much more fun when everyone was closer.”

Scarlett, second year, Economics

“I miss drinking being acceptable at any time of day.”

Danny, second year, History and English

“I miss being the number one on the RA’s worst drunk list”

Becca, second year, History and American Studies

“I miss getting too drunk to even make it to the O2, and ending up having a party in Halls anyway.”

Becca, second year, American Studies

“I miss having enough money to buy a ridiculous amount of Domino’s during Freshers. Now it’s just the £1 TJ’s that can make the budget.”
