Hit American fast food chain Five Guys is opening a new restaurant in town next month.

The gourmet burger joint will land in Cheapside on November 19th, just in time for the winter term.

It comes as part of the chain’s northern expansion, with restaurants in Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and Nottingham opening earlier this year.

Despite a burger, fries and drink coming in at an expensive £15, fast food fans welcomed the arrival of America’s premier cult chain.

Second year Sarah said: “It means we have more options now that there’s a TGI Friday, Byron Burger and a Five Guys – it makes me feel like I’m back in London.”

“The refillable drinks are the best bit.”

Management and Finance fresher Annabel added: “I’m excited. When me and my friends go into town, we want to go somewhere nice to eat, but not McDonalds.

“When I visit my friend at Kingston uni we always go and fill the brown bag with the free peanuts they offer while queuing.”
