Leicester Men’s Football: Varsity crossbar challenge 2015

Have they got what it takes

We caught up with men’s football first team to see if they’re fighting fit for Varsity.

Last year the boys won 3-1 and so the pressure is on to keep the title. Women’s first team narrowly missed out on penalties.

Team Captain Adrian Assinor spoke to us about how the team are feeling ahead of the big game.

Adrian said: “Myself and the team are feeling quietly confident about Varsity. Having beaten DMU 4-0 in a pre-season friendly, we were able to size up their team. But we all know Varsity will be a different ball game, as DMU have had a good season in their league and will come out much stronger then they did in our friendly.

“Importantly, we’ve also have had a good season; we are confident in the way we play and we trust each other on and off the pitch, if we play to the ability we have I’m sure we will be alright on the night. Score prediction 3-0.”

ULFC’s men and women take on DMU on Monday 23rd of March at Aylestone Park FC.
