Lancaster is officially one of the top 10 universities in the UK

We’re the best in the North West

We’re the ninth best university in the country and the best place to go in the North West, according to the Complete University Guide.

Lancaster replaced Bath and Exeter in the top 10, maintaining a clear lead over its nearest rival in the region, the University of Manchester.

Dr Bernard Kingston, principal author of TheCompleteUniversityGuide.co.uk, said  “There is a considerable degree of stability at the upper end of the league table this year. While dramatic changes may be newsworthy, this stability indicates that the rankings are robust and credible for young people seeking a university place – our primary purpose.”

He added: “Students need to know that their complaints are handled effectively and sympathetically. The data we have compiled shows clearly the relative success of institutions in resolving disputes before they escalate to the OIA or peter out.”

According to the CUG’s findings,  Lancaster achieved one top place for Social Work as well as appearing in the national top ten listings 14 times out of its 33 subjects. These include Art and Design, Accounting and Finance, Linguistics and Theology.

In the North West Results, Lancaster came first:
