Hillary Clinton is actually coming to King’s
Clinton will be joining Julia Gillard to launch King’s World Question event series
Hillary Clinton will be joining Julia Gillard at King's in conversation to launch our new World Questions event series.
The former Secretary of State and first ever female presidential candidate of a major US political party will be joining Julia Gillard, the first and only female Prime Minister of Australia, for a discussion to launch King's new 'World Questions' event series.
The event will be hosted by the Global Institute for Women's Leadership (GIWL) and the Policy Institute at King's.
GIWL, chaired by Julia Gillard, was created last year to better understand and address the underrepresentation for women in leadership positions.
Gillard has said: "For decades Secretary Clinton has been a pioneer for women's rights and the fight for equality. She has inspired girls and women across the world to never doubt that they are valuable and powerful".
She continued: "I am delighted to welcome her to King's College London to launch the World Questions event series with a discussion about her experience as a female leader and what needs to change so that more women can follow in her footsteps".
President and Principal of King's, Ed Byrne, has said: "King's College London is thrilled to host two of the world's most influential people working towards gender equality today. Given the importance of this issue to King's, it is fitting that it will be the focus of the first event in our new World Questions series".
Currently there appears to be no tickets for the event for students, however, the discussion between Gillard and Clinton will be live streamed via the King's College London YouTube channel.
