Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd is a secret millionaire raking in even more from Netflix

Umm, he has a whole other name he makes money under?

It turns out Baby Reindeer creator and star Richard Gadd is actually a millionaire. He’s made absolutely loads of money through his comedy career, and is set to bring in even more cash following the huge success of his Netflix show.

According to Companies House, Richard Gadd’s personal firm, which is called RRSG Ltd, has just over £1million in assets, which includes a huge figure of £819,959 “cash in the bank”. His profits in 2023 quadrupled from the year previous, as his show was picked up by Netflix.

Baby Reindeer was made a show in 2019 and premiered at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, but it wasn’t picked up by Netflix until 2023 – when Richard Gadd saw a huge increase in his income, and gained millionaire status. His company is now £836,233 in profit, compared to £178,344 in 2022.

However, he definitely hasn’t just had success from Baby Reindeer, as even before then Richard Gadd was a name in comedy and TV circles. Before the latest Netflix series, he worked as a writer on fav drama, Sex Education. Richard has been performing at Edinburgh Fringe since 2013, and another of his comedy shows was on Comedy Central.

One big mystery from his Companies House records show that he has another name he has filed under. Richard Gadd also apparently works under the name Dr Robert Stephenson, but sorry, I have no answers as to what’s going on there.

From all of his success, it’s been reported Richard Gadd has a net worth of £1million.

Speaking to Variety, Richard reflected on how it was watching his experiences back on the Netflix show. “It was tough, I can’t deny,” he said. “I mean, who in their right mind wants to revisit the worst thing that ever happened to them? The worst period of their life?

“Of course, it affects you and leaves a bit of an imprint on you. But at the same time, I do sometimes feel that revisiting pain and re-experiencing things can lead to a better understanding of them.”
