King’s is one of the top 40 best universities in the world, according to new ranking

KCL has dropped three places in the rankings from last year


King’s College London has been ranked as one of the top 40 best universities in the world, according to a new ranking.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 has named the best universities in the world and has placed King’s at 38 out of 1,906 universities, across 108 countries.

The ranking measures the university’s performance over five key areas: Teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.

King College London receives an overall score of 79. Despite the three place drop from 35th in 2023, the overall score has increased from the 77.1 the university achieved in last years ranking.

The Times Higher Education also published recent statistics about the student population at King’s, noting a 53 per cent percentage of international students at the university, 13.9 students per staff member and a 63:37 ratio of females to males.
