Student denies Freshers’ Week sexual assault

He has pleaded not guilty to the charge


A 23-year-old student has denied sexually attacking a 19-year-old during this year’s Freshers’ Week.

Khalid Alahmadi, who studies at the University of South Wales, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He is accused of assaulting the woman in Gorsedd Gardens, outside the National Museum of Wales during the early hours of September 23rd.

Mr Alahmadi has since been granted bail and is living at a family friend’s house near Reading, Berkshire.

According to judge Eleri Rees, he must wear an electronic tag and obey a curfew between 8pm and 6am.

His passport has also been taken, and a prohibition put in place for travelling abroad.

The trial is due to start on 29th February 2016.
