The Standtorialist
Welcome to The Standtorialist, the St Andrews take on Scott Schuman’s revolutionary street-style blog, The Sartorialist. Disclaimer: This is not a ‘best dressed list,’ nor a ‘who’s who’ […]
Disclaimer: This is not a ‘best dressed list,’ nor a ‘who’s who’ of our tiny town.
As a Londoner (where there’s no such thing as ‘too much’), I have found it difficult to come to terms with this ‘unofficial St Andrews uniform’ that at times seems to dominate our three streets. Instead, I want to focus on those who have carved an individual look for themselves, despite the challenges of Scottish weather.
I will regularly document and celebrate the personal style of the students of our University. I want to know why people dress the way they do, what inspires their individual style, and whether they tailor their personal style to life in St Andrews.
Trying to keep up with each new season’s ‘must have’ items – as ordained by Vogue – will more-than-likely leave you broke, even if you look perfect in your Prada pumps.
However, there is good news for the broke amongst us:
You can’t buy style, you can only create it.
So, it’s time to take off that Barbour (please), and put on something that truly makes you stand out.
