Wondering where to take your friends when they visit Cardiff? Well, look no further

There’s something here for everyone

Are you stressing about making sure your friends have a memorable time in Cardiff and leave wanting more? Well, look no further as this article will tell you about all the best places to take them! Whether your friends are party animals or prefer a more chilled weekend, there is something here for everyone.

1. Live Lounge

Live Lounge has got to be the best place to go out in Cardiff, with free entry and live music until midnight there’s no wonder it’s so popular with students. After 12, the place turns into a club where they play all your favourite songs until 4 am. Make sure to get there early because the queue can get pretty big and waiting outside, sobering up in the cold is no fun! A personal favourite is their pizza which is sold by the slice and is perfect if you are starting to have double vision.

2. Roath Park

Some fresh air in one of Cardiff”s prettiest parks is the perfect remedy for a hangover and will get rid of any hangxiety you may have from the night before. The lighthouse is a great photo opportunity and there is a nice walk around the lake. However, swans, ducks and birds seem to think they own this park so maybe don’t take your friend if they are afraid of animals that fly!

3. Mowgli’s Street Food

Maybe this is more somewhere to take your foodie friends who are sick of eating pasta every night. Enjoy incredible Indian street food, with an aesthetic atmosphere and the chance to sit at a few tables with swinging chairs! You may need to dip into your student loan for this but it is 100 per cent worth it. This is especially great for a group of friends as you can order a large variety of different dishes rather than committing to one meal. To get you started, the Yoghurt Chat Bombs are a must and the tastiest starter on the menu.

4. Uncommon Ground Coffee Roastery

Found in one of the pretty arcades, Uncommon Ground is a hidden gem where you can enjoy a lovely warm drink and a delicious treat. It’s cosy sofas and seats make it an excellent place for a long catch up with your friends. Ideal after an afternoon of perusing Cardiff’s famous arcades.

5. One of the many pubs of Cathays

You can’t invite your friends to visit without taking them for a tour of Cathays’ pubs. There’s something for everyone, whether it be Cringe Karaoke at Vulcan, watching the football at The Woody or drinking buckets of alcohol at Misfits, you really can’t go wrong with Cathays’ nightlife (especially the prices).
