Cardiff confirmed to host Welsh Varsity

2017 will be sure not to disappoint

After being hosted in Swansea for two years running, Welsh Varsity 2017 is now confirmed to take place in Cardiff.

The news was announced yesterday afternoon on Cardiff University’s Students’ Union website, stating: “2017 will see the popular Welsh Varsity tournament return to the capital city of Wales again after two successful years in Swansea.”

Welsh Varsity was hosted by Swansea last year

Cardiff will host the 30 different competing sports between Saturday 1st April and Wednesday 5th April.

Emails were previously sent by the AU Sports Coordinator Emma Fitzpatrick to all Sport Club Presidents, discussing plans for the capital city to host the sporting event.

Elin Harding, Cardiff University’s VP Sport and AU President, said: “I am really excited that the Welsh Varsity is returning to Cardiff this year and it promises to be the highlight of our sporting calendars.

“It is exciting that we are introducing a number of new venues and have been working hard to ensure that this year will be the best year to date.”

Tickets will be sold from Wednesday 1st February.
