Headington is one of the top 50 places to live in the UK

Cowley is cool, but couldn’t make the cut

If you live in Headington, lucky you.

A recent Sunday Times survey of the top 50 towns and suburbs to live in listed our charming little corner of OX3 as one of the best, proving you don’t have to go to Oxford Oxford to get on a list.

The list is compiled based on nearby shops, restaurants, nightlife and entertainment, as well as convenience for transport and education, and there isn’t a more convenient place to live.

Iconic landmark

As the Brookes’ main campus is situated in Headington, it’s a popular location.

The buses to Wheatley and Harcourt are situated outside university, as well as the coaches to London, Heathrow and Gatwick, which makes travelling to and from Oxford easier.

With five supermarkets (including a big and little Waitrose), a multitude of cafes, pubs, and charity shops, Headington is Cowley’s more refined elder sister.

English third year and Headington resident Charles Ward said: “It’s safe, quiet and packed to the brim with posh tat.”
