Sussex Uni warns students to not leave submissions to the last minute

Better get that essay started then

The University of Sussex has issued a warning to students advising them to submit their work as early as possible in order to avoid Study Direct crashing (again).

In January, The Tab Sussex reported on the fiasco of Study Direct crashing one minute before deadline submissions, with hundreds of students unable to upload their work in time.

According to the university, records show that up to 40 per cent of students tend to submit their work within the last hour before the deadline. This puts enormous pressure on the e-submission system, which in turn can lead to a total break-down of Study Direct.

In order to avoid these issues in the future, the university is launching a completely new learning and e-submission system for the upcoming academic year.
