Newcastle University are set to provide sanitary bins in male toilets across campus to make gender neutral students feel more comfortable.

Ronnie Reid, President of the Student Union, told The Chronicle:

“On one side it is for students who identify with a range of genders. On the other it is also for students who may have a medical condition, so the bins are not just for menstrual care products.”

A spokesperson for the University said: “We will discuss the Students’ Union motion for menstrual care bins in all washrooms."

This follows the opening of a gender-neutral toilet in The Robinson Library last year.
