Happy Halloween! Liverpool is officially the most haunted university in the country

Spooky season is here 🎃

Don’t get scared, but the University of Liverpool has been named the most haunted university in the whole country.

New research by The Knowledge Academy looked at the number of cemeteries, gravestones, listed buildings and paranormal reports within two miles of each university campus.

Uni of Liverpool came first in the whole country with a final “spooky score” of 8.73 out of 10, and Liverpool John Moores came in at joint fourth, with a score of 7.76 out of 10. A scary city all round, then.

Part of the reason why Liverpool scored so highly on the list of most haunted unis because it’s old af (founded in 1884). It also has a whopping 282,981 gravestones near it, 25 cemeteries and 21 paranormal reports within two miles of the university.

The University of Bath came in at second place, with Uni of York in third. Rounding off the top five, at joint fourth place with Liverpool John Moores was the University of Exeter. You can see the full list on The Knowledge Academy website.

Happy Halloween! Get your best angel/devil/sexy cat costume on, crave your pumpkins, and try not to be too scared in the knowledge that you’re at the most haunted uni in the UK xoxo
