You can get on an inflatable slide at SU today… but only if you vote in elections

Jennifer HorsfallToday marked the arrival of a pink inflatable slide outside the Fielding Johnson building as part of a recent campaign by the Student’s Union.
Perfect day for it
Leicester Student’s Union recently launched the ‘#MyVoteCounts’ campaign in an attempt to get students to register to vote for the upcoming general election.
Once registered, students receive a ‘shiny festival style wristband’ that gains them access to various incentives until the end of term.
Today’s incentive was a pink Disney-themed inflatable slide that students could slide down, in the rain, providing they had a ‘#MyVoteCounts’ wristband.
The SU told students to “release your inner child!” which seems to have been the theme for the majority of the offers and incentives provided by the campaign; students were able to receive free ice cream with the wristband previously.
We’re sure they meant well.
