Teenager stabbed in broad daylight on Dumbarton Road

Police are appealing for witnesses


A 19-year-old man was stabbed on Friday night walking along Dumbarton Road.

Police are now hunting for two who will be charged with attempted murder, The attack is believed to have been a targeted stabbing, happening in broad daylight along the busy road.

Detective Constable Scott Brockie, of Drumchapel CID told STV: “We know that this was a targeted attack.

“However, in saying that, for it to happen in the middle of the afternoon, near to a busy main road and houses where lots of people are about, beggar’s belief.”

The incident happened at around 1:30pm on Friday the 20th February with the victim being taken to the Western Infirmary where he was described as being in a stable condition.

DC Brockie added: “Dumbarton Road is a very busy road with lots of vehicles, pedestrians – basically lots of people would have been about.

“I am sure that someone saw this attack happen and will have information, possibly in their mind insignificant, but which may be great importance to us.”

While there is currently no description of the men involved, police are still hoping for witnesses to come forward.
