A Road in Cathays was closed by armed police due to a ‘man with a knife’

Richmond Road was closed while a property was searched

Armed police were on hand to deal with an incident on Richmond Road yesterday after it was reported that there was a domestic disturbance between two men, one of whom had a knife.

A number of police cars, both marked and unmarked, as well as armed officers and a canine unit arrived on the scene at twenty past five on Sunday evening, with the road closed during the initial search of a house on the street. Thankfully, nobody was injured during the incident.

A South Wales Police spokesman said in a statement: “Officers were called to an address on Richmond Road at approximately 5.20pm on Sunday, May 14 when a disturbance between two men was reported. One of those men were believed to be in possession of a knife. An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.”
