There will be a Co-op opening in the SU next week

Finishing touches are currently being made

Cardiff Students’ Union is currently in the works to open a Co-operative supermarket on their Cathays premises.

The food store will be on the ground floor of the SU near Coffee Co. and Blackwell’s, and offers a 10% discount to NUS cardholders.

The ground floor of the Students’ Union has recently been refurbished for the new 16/17 academic year.

Signs outside call it the ‘Senghenydd Road Co-op’ and it will open on Thursday the 8th December.

A spokesperson for the Union said: “Since we made refurbishments to the ground floor, we consciously wanted better retail provisions for the Students’ Union and we thought the a Co-op would be the perfect fit for that.”

There will be entrances to the shop both from within the ground floor of the SU and from the outside on Senghenydd Road.

The 8th of December opening occurs a day before the official end of the Autumn Semester.
