The 40-year-old man accused of one of the Freshers’ Week assaults is in court today

He is expected to plea not guilty


The man accused of raping a 20-year-old outside Cardiff University’s Main Building is to enter a plea at Cardiff Crown Court today. 

Remus Hamza, 40, is alleged to have sexually assaulted a young woman on September 20th during Freshers’ Week.

The attack was part of a trio of Freshers’ Week assaults, all of which happened in the space of a square mile.

None of those three incidents are believed to be related.

The attack happened outside the University Main Building

In an  earlier court hearing prosecutor Michael Jones relayed that Hamza was expected to plea not guilty.

Hamza has since been remanded in custody.

A trial date is set for February 2016.
