Varsity CLOSED for serving underage drinkers

Their license is pending review

Varsity has been forced to close after it was caught serving underage punters.

A police sting resulted in the closure of the naughty Greyfriars establishment this week, pending a review of its license.

Now Varsity has announced that the closure is due to intensive staff training – and it is trying to rename itself “Three Rivers”.

It looks so sad now

Following intelligence gathering the police established that persons employed at the venue have persistently sold alcohol to children within a two month period.

The sting, code named Operation Rudolph “utilised” children 14-17 years old on Tuesday 16th and Thursday 18th December.

The application for a review of the premises’ license was served on 22nd December.
