Second year takes broccoli to MNB and is now more popular than you

He doesn’t even like broccoli

A Business Management and Film student reaped the benefits of MNB fame after taking a broccoli clubbing with him.

Second year Toby Clarke took one of his five a day out with him on Monday, with people even offering him drinks in exchange for a bite.

The decision arose after his housemates played odds, but even when no one won, Toby was still keen to take his meat and one veg out with him.

Want a bite?

Toby told The Tab: “I just brought it along because I need my vitamins. You’ve got to stay healthy at uni. Any time, any place.

“I had a lot of comments about it and a lot of people demanding to eat some. Broccoli makes you very popular.

“One guy even said ‘If I can have a bite you can have some of my drink’.”

Got to have your five a day

Toby’s housemate Emily Hawkings, a second year Fine Art student, told us how it really came about.

She said: “We played odds on as to who was going to take the broccoli and no one won, but Toby was already committed to the cause and decided to take it anyway.

“It’s such a classic Toby thing to do. The boy doesn’t even like broccoli.”

If you’re looking to get some free drinks at MNB, some household veg is the answer.
