A new night in Oxford?

Does Thursday night at Camera finally have a rival for our attention?

There is a new student night in Oxford for us to sink our party crazed teeth into. ‘Mojo’ hosted at Lola Lo’s on Thursday evenings was introduced last week to eager crowds. How did they fair?

Celeb Guest? CHECK

A chance to meet the self- proclaimed ‘ladies’ man’ of Chelsea, Spencer Matthews. He was hard to miss, all you had to do was to head towards the swarm of girls that just happened to be dancing in front of VIP. Amongst the camera flashes, and excitable giggles Spencer was in his element with hench body guards for company.

The star that we now love to hate was (irritatingly) courteous and polite even with my probing for next seasons gossip and the never ending demand for fan photos. But hey, who wouldn’t put up with us lot for a couple of grand at the end of the night?

Epic DJ? CHECK

Matt Howes. The legendary Radio1Xtra DJ took the night to the next level and gave us students something to really go wild for. Classic R&B tunes were heard alongside dance, pop, house and even some hints of reggae. A welcome change from the numbing club music (yes you One Direction and the Baywatch theme tune) that we’ve all become accustomed to.

Hard core partiers? …well sort of

Admittedly this week it was predominantly Oxford students rather than Brookes ones (and we know who can party better). It does however take a lot to shift our hoards from the local ‘watering holes’. And this night is up against ‘Klass Thursdays @ Camera.’ From the partier’s themselves I took the slurring of words and lack of balance as a good sign. We put a lot of this down to Spencer and Matt Howes.

Free Booze? CHECK

Nothing beats free bubbly!

Signature event’s you most certainly get The Tab’s stamp of approval, great work on the eye candy  and I have no doubt that with word of mouth more and more of us will get our excitable selves down to check it out (keep the champers coming please).
