An evening with controversial journalist Milo Yiannopoulos

A tale of arrogance, pizza and bowling

| UPDATED

Last Friday night after the intense intellectual struggle that was The Gender Politics Debate in Bristol between Milo Yiannopoulos and Rebecca Reid, a small exclusive gathering took place.

Wine was drunk and pizza was shared while the two titans of argument who had just tried to tear each other to pieces on stage acted like close friends.

After taking a few selfies together and going for a cigarette break outside, both Milo and Rebecca dispersed into the crowd to talk with guests present at the after party. Although Rebecca was humble and asked people if she thought she had performed well, Milo was anything but.

Surrounded by a circle of entranced followers and refusing to remove his blue sun glasses, Milo proceeded to sign autographs, give speeches and take selfies with his adoring fans.

Even University of Bristol Feminist Society’s famous Social Media Officer Francesca Collins begged to get into the party so she could get a snap with Milo.

Later in the evening things began to simmer down and a few guests, including Rebecca, started to peel away. Milo took the opportunity to read Epigram’s article about the debate with a full array of facial expressions.

Talk of clubbing fell on weary ears. When Milo was asked if SWX would be the best club to head to because there’s loads of people so he might be recognised, he simply replied: “I don’t mind”.

As more guests began to leave, the party disbanded and a few select individuals including President of Journalism Society Ben Kew took Milo bowling to end the night.

Milo came last.
