Soton has been ranked the 15th best uni in the UK!

Sanjana RaoThe University of Southampton has been officially ranked 15th in the UK according to the Times Higher Education.
Today, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021 were released which placed Southampton 127th in the world (level with the University of Oslo in Norway), beating UK universities such as Durham, Leeds and Exeter.
Southampton was given a score of 59.4 out of 100. Universities are judged based on their performance in five areas: Teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
In subject-specific rankings within the UK, Southampton ranked 15th for General Engineering, 16th for Medicine & Dentistry, and for Geography. The university also ranked 17th for Biological Sciences, Psychology, Physics & Astronomy, Law and Computer Science and 18th for Sociology, Economics & Econometrics, and Politics & International Studies.
Soton was also ranked 19th in the UK for its research and 19th for its teaching. The uni was ranked 15th for its international outlook.
Bournemouth University ranked 49th in the UK and Southampton’s varsity rivals Portsmouth were ranked 61st in the UK.
Previously, Southampton has been ranked 15th in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
