You are not worthy of Soton’s best dressed on campus but I won’t tell if you don’t

May I present your campus trendsetters

After keeping an eye out on campus,  a few outfits were scouted among the crowd of students during the mid-lecture lunch rush. The ultimate task of narrowing them down to a ‘best dressed’ list proved difficult, as there were some undeniably killer outfits.

From effortless gym attire, to carefully coordinated boujee outfits, there is no right or wrong way to dress on campus. We all know university is the prime time to experiment with style. After all, clothes are a form of self-expression, so dare to be different but most importantly, wear what makes you happy.

So take a look at the hottest outfits on campus right now…

Woj, History

Tomi, Law

Woj rocked up to campus in a suit with contrasting shades of check. The outfit was put together with a pair of bold maroon Doc Martens with yellow laces that happen to match his long blazer as well as his statement black beanie; not many could pull off an outfit like this so hats off.

Agneta, Marketing

Agneta was found in building 100 ready for a study sesh in her casual split seam jeans and converse, balanced out by a fancy lace up beige tee and an open fluffy leopard print jacket. Her curly blonde hair tops it all off; overall very put together!

Isabella, English

Found walking past Hartley, Isabella was eye-catching with her striking zebra print puffa with a subtle black crop top and layered gold chains. Her satin jogger-style trousers gave it an edgy but relaxed vibe. Her outfit was completed with classic Nikes.

Connor, Biology

Connor was ironically found standing under a ‘NO WAITING IN THIS AREA’ sign but he looked cool so we can allow it. His vintage bright pink jumper stood out against his casual blue straight-leg jeans and platform Fila trainers.

Jasmin, Film Studies

Whilst browsing through films in Avenue, Jasmin stood out from the crowd with her lilac Adidas hoodie, rolled up wide leg jeans, and contrasting red and blue laced Adidas trainers; clearly very loyal to the brand.

Ben, Economics

Repping all the brands, Ben was found in the student union rocking a Ralph Lauren cap and a retro Fila coat. The bold colours were counteracted with a basic white tee, skinny black jeans and Reeboks; his vintage style topped with a cheeky smile naturally attracted attention on campus.

Mariana, Maritime Law

Impossible to miss, we caught a candid shot of Mariana whilst waiting for a bus at the interchange with an espresso shot in hand. She looked cosy in her statement red scarf layered on top of a full length tartan blazer-cut coat and some bulky cream trainers. Cute and candid sums it up nicely.

Chris, Finance & Economics

Chris was repping Supreme after a library sesh and managed to pull off double cargo, along with a subtle Yankee cap and some edgy glasses. Also, you can’t go wrong with a pair of Nike air forces to bring it together.

Lottie, Psychology

Caught in the sun, Lottie was wearing a red corduroy pinafore layered on top of a subtle white roll neck to give it a classy finish. The neutral additions to the outfit with the black leather boots, tights and puffer jacket pulled it together.

Marshall, International Banking

Marshall was passing the interchange in a killer outfit, totally pulling off the subtle pastel shades. The cloudy pink loose-fitting tie-dye trousers were bomb. The look was topped off with a sky grey puffer and headphones. Edgy is an understatement.

Shannon, Physiotherapy

Shannon was caught skimming through a book in Hartley in some trendy black denim flares and a daring zebra print turtleneck. She chose to accessorise her outfit with a carefully coordinated red belt and slick headband.

Meheret, History

Not afraid to stand out, Meheret took advantage of the sunny day by adding some black out shades to complete her outfit. Her blush pink suede coat was paired with some stylish black cigarette trousers and a knitted white jumper.

Let’s be realistic, sleeping through five alarms and have 10 minutes, if that, to throw something on, means an outfit as fire as these may not be on the cards. Among the mass of clothes lingering in your wardrobes, it’s likely a black hoodie and a basic pair of mom jeans will be the outfit you drag yourself to lectures in.

But if you do find the time and effort to look this good, we’ll try spot you for the next edition of best dressed on campus.
