Our very own Student’s Union will play host to another massive music festival this November.

iNDEPENDENCE Festival has been put together by Advance Promotions and Psychedelia, two of the biggest names in independent music production in the country.

The festival will take place on the 14th of November,

Just some of the acts they’ve managed in the past include the Arctic Monkeys, Bastille, Royal Blood, The 1975 and Mumford & Sons.

Could the Arctic Monkeys be coming to Southampton?

Around 40 acts are expected to be performing, with the line-up being announced in the next few months. Tom Dyer, from Psychedelia, said:

The festival is something we’ve been discussing for some time, so it’s great to see it starting to take shape.

We are talking with some pretty amazing artists… It’s another testament to a thriving city and music scene

The promoters promise a varied line-up- from indie to rock and everything in between- as well as the chance to explore Southampton’s own indie scene.

Takedown Festival, which has been hosted by SUSU for the last four years, is organised by Advance Promotions, and Psychedelia run the popular Club Psychedelia nights, so their roots are firmly in Southampton.

The festival is a welcomed addition to the list of big music events to come to Southampton this year, with the creators of Bestival also hosting Common People next month.
