A 3rd year Southampton student received a free gift from the kind people at KFC the other day. She had stopped by the fast food restaurant in Portswood to pick up some tasty chicken legs with her friends, but when she got home to eat them she made a gruesome discovery – something squishy, with an appearance undeniably similar to brains, was lurking amongst the finger lickin’ goodness.
The story was brought to our attention by the good people over at Soton Digest, who published photos of the stomach-turning find on their website in order to warn their followers and other Southampton residents. A reporter for the SD described the situation as “worrying and slightly disturbing, given the vast number of people that purchase food from this restaurant everyday.”
This isn’t the first time mystery meat has made its way into a KFC meal, so perhaps this bizarre phenomenon isn’t as rare as many of us would like to think. Whether the organ in question is actually a brain or just chicken guts, at least we can all rest safe in the knowledge that what we’re eating is real meat…
