The Tab and Bar Blanc are putting on an open mic charity night for Movember

An event raising money for the Movember Foundation is taking place in Bar Blanc on Monday.

The open mic night in association with The Tab Newcastle will have singers and bands from Newcastle and Northumbria.

Organisers ask for a two pounds entry fee with a percentage of money taken behind the bar also going to the Movember Foundation.

The Movember Foundation is a global charity “committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives.”

Since 2003 the charity has raised £402 million and funded over 1,000 projects focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.

The Facebook event for the evening says “Come down, have a few drinks, and check out some of Newcastle and Northumbria’s finest musicians as we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for this great cause – we hope to see you there!”

In March Bar Blanc held another event in association with The Tab Newcastle to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. The event raised over £600 for the charity.
