‘I wanted to be a dick’: Remember Aiden from Secret Life of Students?

He’s left the country, basically

Remember Secret Life of Students? It was a show set in Leicester last year that followed freshers. It was cringe, and Aiden was the star.

After break from the show and the end of freshers Aiden has found himself in China teaching English. But has the stigma of the show eluded the renowned Lad?

Reflecting on his time on the show, Aiden seems to have no regrets for his portrayal.

He says: “I wanted to be a dick. I just didn’t want to be boring as I felt the show as a whole was pretty shit.”

His antics certainly livened up the show with STI ordeals and anus abuse for predrinks (for those of you who don’t know, just google vodka-soaked tampons).

But now his freshers fiasco is finally at an end one year on and the beast seems to be tamed. Avoiding former demons he said, “I just need a huge break from partying. I’m doing a complete sober year out here.”

He also added “also kind of got a Chinese girlfriend!” but kept quiet with anymore details. Maybe he’s learned from his public romance with Josie from the show last year.

Aiden and his new girlfriend

Relations between Secret Lifers Josie and Aiden seem have thawed despite the whole chlamydia incident.

He says: “I speak to her now and again, bit of banter. She’s cool.”

But he still retains his old self and is still all about the dolla. “Wouldn’t do voluntary” he said of his position in China.

Former King of the Lads?

Even more revolutionary, he seems to be a man with a plan. During the show he clearly showed that his choice of subject, business and management, wasn’t ideal.

Yet he plans to return to uni at Leicester in 2015 and change courses. He said: “I want to go into investment banking or foreign exchange broking like my grandad.”

Aiden also claims that his big move to China was all part of the plan. He says: “I took a year off because of the show and because of a lot of other personal reasons.

“Show or no show I wouldn’t be at uni this year anyway and if I had gone this year I wouldn’t be here next year.

“Coming to China has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
