According to the group’s Facebook page, the march will begin in the city centre at 10am, before making its way up to the War Memorial in Victoria Park.
The EDL plans to lay flowers and hold a minutes silence, one of several events being held nationwide to commemorate last week’s murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich.

Leicester’s branch of Unite Against Fascism (UAF) is also planning an event on Saturday, a ‘peaceful unity protest’ in opposition to the EDL, which will take place by the Clock Tower.
The Leicester Mercury has reported that local Muslim community leaders have urged “people to stay away” from Saturday’s demonstration, although Leicestershire Police are predicting “relatively small, low-key events”.
