Uni attacks Spotted pages

Was Rate Your Shag the straw that broke the camel’s back?

University bosses today condemned what they describe as ‘entirely inappropriate and offensive’ Facebook pages.

In a statement, uni chiefs said: “A number of serious concerns have been raised with the University which we are actively investigating.”

This year’s exam period has seen a wave of Leicester University related Facebook pages, such as ‘Thing’s Leicester Students Don’t Say’, ‘Leicester Uni Tell Him/Her’, and most recently the line-crossing ‘Leicester Uni Rate Your Shag’.

However, these pages are not unique to Leicester and there are similar pages springing up across the country for other universities.

Earlier today the University began commenting on many of the pages’ submissions, advising students to read the University’s Equal Opportunities Policy before posting.

Following on from this, the statement specifies that ‘action will be taken’ under the Senate Regulations Governing Student Discipline and the Equal Opportunities Policy.
