Jesus Dinosaurs Extinct

Students at Jesus College were sad to see their giant dinosaur artwork removed from Library Court.

The giant cor-ten steel dinosaurs which had been installed in the Jesus College’s Library Court have been moved.

The sculptures had dominated the Court; reaching up to 7 metres in height and 8 metres in length.

The artwork is entitled ‘The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth (But Not the Mineral Rights)‘ and is by Jake and Dinos Chapman. The Chapman brothers are a duo of collaborative artists, who were nominated for the Turner Prize in 2003.

The artwork now resides outside the Gherkin in London.

Like many Cantabs, the dinosaurs have moved on to dwell in the financial centre of the city

Jesus College still has an impressive art and sculpture collection despite the loss of these impressive figures.

The news has caused mixed reactions among Jesuans. James, a Jesus student, was downbeat, saying, “Those dinosaurs were a beautiful thing.

“They made me feel as if I had to cross through Jurassic Park whenever I went to the library.”

Other students have taken to Twitter to express their outrage:

Melodramatic?
