Purple Turtle is closing down

Purple Turtle has just announced that they will be closing due to failure to negotiate the terms of their contract with the Oxford Union.

PT have been going strong at their venue in Oxford city centre for the past 20 years and have now been told they need to vacate by November 30th of this year.

This makes this week the last ever to go to PT.

In a Facebook post, the owners said: “As some of you may know we have been negotiating our new lease with the Oxford Union over the last few months and unfortunately much to our disappointment we have not been able to come to an arrangement that would allow us to remain in Frewin Court, our home for the last twenty years. We’ve been asked to vacate the premises by the 30th of November, yep, that’s in two weeks”.

The owners have since claimed they will be searching high and low for a suitable venue so they may reopen the club as soon as possible due to their popularity, but it remains unclear if and when this will happen.

PT and all its upcoming events after Saturday 24th November “are Hereby, heartbreakingly cancelled”.

The Brookes shot and The Hulk drink will now no longer be available.
