Bristol medical students march in protest of NHS contract

An estimated 200 people took part

Medics marched around Bristol on Tuesday in protest of the proposed contact changes by the government to junior doctor’s contracts.

The stoppage lasted from 08:00 until 17:00

Several 3rd year medical students told the Tab that this protest had a huge student turnout, mainly as the contracts marked an all out stoppage of junior doctors on emergency and elective services.

One student told us “about 200 third year medical students had a central study day.

“While we were all in Wills Memorial Building (where we will graduate) it was a great opportunity to show solidarity with the Junior Doctors.

“We took this picture for social media in support of strike action against imposition of an unsafe and unfair contract.

“As the BMA says, we are one profession”.
