Varsity Preview 2014: Fight Night

Varsity season is once again upon us; the Tab looks ahead to the mouth-watering prospect of Fight Night.

On the 28th February the University of Bristol will host UWE, and fighters across a range of weight classes will face off against each other in a big to emerge victorious.

Bristol are still reeling, having missed out on top spot last year, and the club is eager to return the domination they enjoyed in 2012.

Facing off: Bristol are eager to make up for the disappointment of last year

Stepping into the ring will be 2nd year Tom Davison and The Tab caught up with him to find out Bristol’s chances.

“The whole squad has been training exceptionally hard this year and it’s shaping up to be a great night. Bristol is looking stronger than ever and we’ve got some of the best fighters the club has ever had.

“Am I confident? Of course. I’m training two hours a day at the moment, and I’m in the best physical shape of my life. I know that when I get into that ring I’m going to give it all I’ve got.”

Bristol’s Vice Captain lays into the opposition, and will be aware that the rest of the team will need approach the big night with similar venom if they are to return to winning ways

Every effort is being made to make the night an incredible spectacle with seating fully surrounding the ring, the lure of a fully stocked bar, and inter-fight entertainment.  Fighters will enter to their own individual entrance music, and pre-fight montages will be sure to get the crowd fired up. Bristol’s very own FUZE models will even be acting as Ring Girls for the night.

Hopefully a recurring sight, come the 28th

Once again Fight Night looks to be one of the highlights of a busy Varsity schedule; do you really need much more of an excuse to come along and see UWE get pummeled?
