BU Fusion building to be turned into halls
Where am I going to get my diss pic now?!
Bournemouth University’s Fusion building will be converted into student accommodation with construction work starting as early as September.
After a financial review meeting earlier this year the University decided the building was no longer financially viable. The board felt that an increased amount of student accommodation would bring in more beneficial revenue.
Ellie Carter, a second year English student said: ‘I’m absolutely gutted. I was looking forward to taking my dissertation pic in front of that building. Where am I going to take it now? Dylan’s?!’
Libby Stevens said: ‘Where am I supposed to get my Costa latte before my lectures? Hard enough to stay awake during media and society as it is.’
The new student accommodation is expected to be available by September 2022.
Before you start crying, check the date! Long live Fusion and the iconic diss pics.
