March 8th marks International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This years theme is Inspire Inclusion, campaigning to forge a more inclusive world for women. Exciting events will be taking place across the world, and we have found some pretty cool ones happening right here at Bournemouth University, so here is a round up of what is happening this week.

Women’s History Month movie night

It’s time to get the popcorn out – the Surf Club are hosting a film screening of Soul Surfer to celebrate Women’s History Month.

Fizz and Feminism

This free event coincides with World Book Day and is an opportunity to talk about books and feminism over a glass of bubbly, plus the chance to make your own zine reflecting on being a woman. Sounds like the perfect evening to me!
